Take Two! The Wedding of Japleen & Sandeep

A beautiful story that never ends! A couple weeks ago, I shared a snippet into the love tale of Japleen and Sandeep. You can read that blog here.

The duo decided to have a Western style ceremony along with their traditional Sikh ceremony. Set in the stunning Quarry Farm, their second ceremony was like something crafted from your wildest dreams. Truly breathtaking, the bride and groom were super regal in their looks but still retained their quirk (haha Japleen chose to sport sneakers!).

This ceremony was gorgeous to say the least, every detail was carefully selected to suit the couple and their unique taste. The bridal and grooms party were so elegantly dressed – needless to say that the guests were dressed to impress.

After we captured some candid moments, the reception soon followed. There was an epic dance at the reception, Japleen is a dancer and part of West Coast Bhangra! The vibe was so awesome, the team and myself busted some of our best moves yet (yes my moves are part of the package 😉 ).

Thank thank THANK YOU to Japleen and Sandeep. I had the best time at your wedding extravaganza. It was one of my highlights of 2019. Your love story is truly beautiful and I am so glad that I was able to translate that through the camera.

A Beautiful Sikh Wedding – Japleen Weds Sandeep Part 1

There are some things that stick with you through a lifetime. The beautiful wedding of Japleen and Sandeep will definitely stay with me for an eternity. I am so elated to say I was blessed with the honour of shooting their gorgeous Sikh wedding. The couple are of Punjabi Indian heritage and let me just say – the Punjabi community know how to celebrate a union!

When I first met the couple, I fell in love with their love. They are so into each other and that really came through from day one. Soon after we were booked, the wheels were set in motion. The couple decided to have a Sikh ceremony along with a Western ceremony.

Their Sikh ceremony was held at the Sikh Temple in Canning Vale. A glamourous affair, the duo paid tribute to their beautiful culture and there were so many heartfelt moments during this ceremony. Not only were the couple so beautifully dressed, but so were the guests. I remember feeling a few moments of emotion when I watched those intimate moments with the family. Ahhhhh…. let me just say – my job is the best.

The Aroma of Love | Mellisa Weds Scott

Seriously, where is the time going? Recently I got into one of my nostalgic moods and thought about my years in this amazing industry. I couldn’t help but reflect on the gorgeous celebration and ceremony of Mellisa and Scott. I shot this gorgeous wedding THREE years ago and it really has stuck with me all this time.

The best part about my job is that I get to wake up every day telling the love story of two gorgeous people. When I sat down with these two I knew that their wedding was going to be one for the memory bank. Their wedding was gorgeous to say the least, from the beginning I knew that their love story was unique.

The wedding and reception were both set at Caversham House, incase you didn’t know already – I am totally obsessed with this 10/10 venue. I was fortunate enough to witness some heartfelt moments between the families – these are the sorts of moments I LIVE for. The wedding was officiated by one of my favourite Celebrants – Luke Firth and was witnessed by close family and friends. The duo even had their two doggos at the ceremony and I can still remember their gorgeous barks.

A humble thank you to Mellisa and Scott. I hope you two enjoy the many awesome and fun-filled years to come – love is a crazy ride that only gets better and better with time! Wishing you well.

A Marvelous Macedonian Wedding | Rebecca Weds Shashko

One of the best things about my job, is that I get to experience an array of cultures and it is a true celebration of family traditions and love. Not long ago, I was fortunate enough to witness and capture the love story of Shashko and his bride, Rebecca. Their wedding was a big and elaborate Macedonian wedding that included the flavours of their culture.

Their private and intimate ceremony was at the Macedonian Orthodox Church of Perth called Saint Nikola. It was absolutely beautiful with tear-jerking moments throughout. I was especially touched when I witnessed the emotion in Shashko’s face as he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. Life is about capturing moments like this.

We took some fabulous candid photos around Brookfield place and then we went to Joondalup Resort for the reception! Wow – just wow! Being a big Macedonian wedding, everyone was dancing like it was their last night on earth. The vibe was so infectious, I snuck in a couple moves too. 😉

Personally, my highlight was learning so much about the Macedonian culture. One tradition that stuck with me is that the groom has to shave the morning of his wedding. The shaving of the groom is a celebratory custom that takes place, in ancient times it was believed that a groom could be so nervous on his wedding day that he could cut himself, hence the need for a steady reliable hand.

Thank you to the beautiful couple for including me on this auspicious day. It was such an honour to learn about your culture and to celebrate your love. Wishing you life long happiness :). Til next time.
